Veterans cricket is a mix of fun, mates, laughs and some old competitive spirit for those aged 40 and over as of the day of the game.
Veterans games are played fortnightly on Sundays, starting at 12:30 pm & finishing around 5.00 pm. After play, the bar is open to allow some rehydration and to share stories from the game with teammates and opposition players.
All games are a one-day format with:
- 36 overs a side
- Batters retiring at 40
- Bowlers allowed a maximum of six overs each
Games are always played in a gentlemanly fashion, adhering strictly to the "spirit of cricket", with the only questioning regarding a player's cricketing ability permitted being those directed at your teammates.
Training is purely an optional exercise on a Thursday night starting at 6.00 pm. For most training starts around 7.30 pm in the clubrooms with meals and refreshments, followed by club raffles and the announcement of senior team selections.
The club welcomes new players and further information can be obtained from the Veterans Coordinator.
